mindful the merchant (a fictional character) is seven’s virtual store spokesperson.
seven’s organizational system reflects that of Native American culture for many reasons including “a self-sufficient self-governing business sovereign was deemed better than the alternative.” Further, the idea of freedom and democratic ideals was born because it was only in America that Europeans from 1500 to 1776 knew of societies that were “truly free.” (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_Americans_in_the_United_States)
In the late 1700′s a general store offered an abundant supply of sustainable agriculture and small-scale commercial products. The quality of life was is superb. And, in Thomas Paine’s eyes, the potential of a civilized society (see Agrarian Justice – 1797) was in reach. It was common sense.
In the early/mid 1800′s, the great Oregon Territory (which, at the time, stretched east from the pacific ocean to the present day Montana borders) resolved (through democratic process) to adopt the Oregon Organic Act providing for the ages, among other things, the understanding that self-governing sovereigns are a better choice than the alternative – under which the seven planet carta was adopted. In the later part of the 1800′s (with the industrial revolution gaining steam) an increasingly large percentage of the Oregon economy was ‘big commerce.’
Today, through the virtual store… and the sharing of systems and solutions with an energetic network of entrepreneurs, seven planet is improving the efficiency and reach of merchants operating green general stores on main streets everywhere. Mindful the merchant and the rest of seven planet are striving to reverse the trend… to turn back the clock and create… slowly but surely…. better …. more frictionless…. more sustainable …. regional based economic solutions … for necessary goods (e.g., those offered in the seven planet silos …. apparal… energy… food….health…household…shelter… travel…)
mindful the merchant… striving for mindful commerce…
here… there.. everywhere…
