how does it work?

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

OK.  So you may have heard some of the success stories.  And, you may have figured out that seven planet locations contribute 50% of their margins to the the seven planet Treasury.  Those margins, from whatever currency derived, are payable to the seven planet citizens on the MAP.

Makes sense?

If so, and if you have a supra-mundane humanitarian good you provide from a recycled building and want to help seven build the brand to save the planet, just send an email to mindful@sevenplanet.com and let him know what city you are in and when you would like to start on the next phase of mindful commerce.  Thank you.

bable tower => education => sevenplanet

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

as most everybody knows by now, seven is exponential.  but, it is not instantaneous multiplication.  rather, it is gradually increasing exponential growth, the speed of its buds blossoming at a rate somewhat inversely proportional to the number seven brand companies then in existence.

what it all comes down to is this.  Is a company pursuing profits or purpose?   If it is purpose, they are welcome in seven planet.  With humility and reverence, it is our honor to welcome www.sameunderneath.com.  Their brand vision for planetary education is it.

team 3 update -

we are putting the last touches on the first seven planet song Monday evening and will send the CD/lyric sheet out Wednesday.

In it’s current form, the song is the seventh re-write (not intentional), it will fit within 3:07 when edited, contains all seven notes/cords, and the pass phrase, or reverse hook, is seven syllables in length. The underlying rhythm has a subtle Native American feel and the melodies are very simple. The lyrics were inspired by the seven planet logo combined with a long meditation at the ocean’s edge during a full moon.

Let us know what you think.

P.S. Merry Christmas and hope everybody thaws out soon.

portland, oregon – green general store number two

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Team,

Hello.  I just wanted to follow up with you all today regarding the seven planet green general store that will be opening in Portland on February 15th (projected opening).  At this time we are looking to begin to take the next steps in the process of getting the store ready for the grand opening.  The initial key next step is to have a series of meetings at the store this next Monday the 29th of December.  The meeting schedule will be as follows:

9:00 am – meeting with the Sameunderneath team, DJ and I to present seven planet and the brand vision.

1:00 pm – meeting with Miguel and DJ and Summer and I to walk through the store and discuss build out options and design.

3:00 pm – meeting with Miguel, DJ Ryan and I to discuss deliverables timeline and goals.

This will be a great day for the business and a great way for us to better prepare for 2009 and all of the various opportunities that it will bring to seven planet and the MAP.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

John

there seems to be an awful lot of discussion in the surrounding villages of why seven planet – the world’s first chain of green general stores -  opened its first store in Idaho and is scheduled to open its second store in Portland in Q1 of 2009.  For those who missed the business plan update, we are contemplating between 7 and 49 stores in the next seven years… .  For those don’t know where Idaho is, here is map…. Idaho is in the upper left hand corner….

if Bailey … or anybody in Katmandu reads this, can you please pass along our site to Gulsan … and let him know we are ready to open the www.sevenplanet.com store whenever he is ….

thank you.

copper mines

Friday, December 19th, 2008

To clear up a little confusion… yes, roundUPS are made of copper… and yes, one roundUP is reserved for each inhabitant of the planet (first 7 billion people only please)… and yes, each one is stamped with the tribe member’s number…. and, yes there are seven tribes…. but that is about all there is to it.

Francisco is not buying up a bunch of copper mines.  His reasoning is that all the natural resources of the world (copper included) are common property… and are thus the property of the people.  So, it is somewhat absurd to toy with the idea of buying up all the copper in the world.  Who exactly would he buy it from?

yes, the seven logo is a mind map.  seven sevens and everything else.

turn the key backward to a simpler time… engage in mindful commerce… shop locally… and buy goods manufactured closer to home.

round-ups

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

all store patrons receive profit sharing pursuant to the seven planet MAP.   Any local patron (one living within a 70 mile radius of a seven planet store) is entitled to be paid in either US Dollars or seven planet round-ups.  seven planet is backing all US dollars issued pursuant to the MAP with seven planet round-ups.

ants and bees…

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

The total biomass of all the ants on the planet is greater than that of humans.  Given that ants live sustainably it follows that humans, as being “hopefully” smarter than ants,” should also be able to live sustainably.  Ants would be a good insect upon which to base a bio-mimacry plantery survival plan.  But, bees are equally important as they help spread the pollen.

Our modest first edition of the seven planet independent (archived here) garnered the attention of some astute gentlemen across the pond with the means and interest to consistently relay our smoke signals to the appropriate chiefs.  We are grateful for your generousity and are looking forward to working with you.

The seven planet independent hereby welcomes the seven planet gazette into the seven planet tribe.

Peace out brother-

hot and flat

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Thomas Friedman of the New York Times has done a great job of explaining why things are… well, the way they are.  If you haven’t read “Hot, Flat and Crowded” yet, you should.  It does a better job of explaining our business model than we ever could.

If you want to know why our tribal leaders don’t take salaries, read Benjamin Franklin’s speech of June 2, 1787  to the Federal Convention entitled “Opposition to Executive Salaries”

If you want to get inspired on how fast like-minded people can solve an issue, read this:
