Humans consume a LOT. For about the last century, a direct result of this consumption has resulted in a "trashed" planet. The more humans have consumed the more trashed the planet has become. Seven planet is striving to reverse this trend for purposes of saving the planet.
We encourage humans to "be mindful" with consumption.
In a perfect world -- like when Adam and Eve walked the earth, and rivers had water clean enough to drink -- no one would purchase anything. Given that this is no longer realistic every purchasing decision should help incrementally save the planet. Deciding to not purchase something is good for helping save the planet. Purchasing something good for the planet is even better decision.
An example may shed light on this notion. For someone considering purchasing a belt they have options. They could "not" purchase a belt. This decision is good for saving the planet as no new pollution (from manufacturing, distribution and packaging) is introduced into the system. The decision however to purchase a belt that actually helps reduce pollution -- for the reason that the belt is manufactured from materials that otherwise would be in the dump -- is even better for saving the planet.
Even businesses that do almost everything right still inevitably have some negative impact on our shared earth with consumerism. Nevertheless we strive to promote businesses that, on balance, do more to help save the planet than trash it. The businesses we have identified which help save the planet and improve quality of life by providing super cool consumer goods are organized in the following seven silos. We encourage everyone to support "mindful suppliers" in these silos engaging in "mindful commerce" to help save the planet.

- Apparel - Every single person in the world (almost) wears clothes everyday. We strive to promote apparel manufacturers who produce quality goods from recycled and/or sustainable materials.
- Energy - Everyone on the planet -- from the barefooted bushwoman in Africa cooking food over an open fire to the busy international banker in Switzerland driving to work in his electric vehicle -- consumes energy. We strive to promote energy solutions capitalizing on fuels from heaven (solar and wind) and earth (water and wood) rather than hell (coal and petroleum).
- Food - We all eat. Most of us eat everyday. We try to promote companies helping with a sustainable plant-based food supply-chain to feed everyone in the world. Nobody should be hungry in this day and age.
- Health - A healthy human is happier than an unhealthy one. We promote companies helping people stay healthy naturally.
- Household - From Eskimos in an igloo to housewives of Beverly Hills, everyone needs things for their household. We try to offer cool things that improve the quality, efficiency and enjoyability of a household -- all mindfully.
- Shelter - Everyone needs "shelter from the storms." Whether more temporary (like camping in a Yurt) or more permanent (like a timberframe house), we strive to offer solutions for shelter that are sustainable and comfortable,
- Travel - Almost everyone travels, at least a little bit, and sometimes very far. We try to promote sustainable travel solutions making travel more enjoyable.
